auto accidents

A television program does not pass without a lawyer advertising to handle auto accident cases. The jingles and slogans cheapen the importance of having a lawyer who is experienced in representing auto accident victims. Many advertising lawyers run as assembly lines, getting the case in the door, and settling and collecting their fees as quick as possible. That is not how Kevin Luibrand handles auto accident claims. Kevin Luibrand has handled serious auto accident cases where lives are forever affected. He understands the complex interplay of no-fault laws that allow a person to be reimbursed medical costs and lost wages with the recovery that can be obtained for serious injuries where jobs, families and emotions are forever changed. He has the staff and investigative team available to secure important statements, gather evidence and medical reports, and file claims before the time runs out.

$1,500,000 settlement the week before trial(prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome)

A career military man was driving alone on a twisting Rensselaer County roadway. At a harsh road bend, an oncoming tanker truck, travelling too fast for the conditions, began to slide over to his lane. The tanker was empty, and began to sway. The soldier moved to the far right of the road as an evasive action, and with a whipping effect, the tanker slammed into his car causing severe injuries to the driver.  He was trapped in the car for over an hour, and volunteer fire fighters had to use the jaws of life to extricate him.

Within weeks, an insurance compnay representative began calling to resolve his possible claim with the payment of what appeared to be a significant amount of money. But, the money offered would barely cover six months of lost income for a soldier who would be forced out of the military because of his injuries. Kevin Luibrand filed suit and questioned many important witnesses, using his efforts and those of an investigative team. He hired experts to testify on road conditions and lost wages, and revealed to the insurance company a dossier of statements and photographs that showed the extent of the truck driver's negligence. In the weeks before trial, when the insurance company realized the scope of his preparation, the company increased its settlement offer by over $1,000,000, and the case was settled before the first day of actual trial testimony.
